On February 22, 2023, Thalis E.S. S.A. signed a contract with the Municipality of Argos Orestikou of the Province of Kastoria, in the Region of Western Macedonia for the project " Biological treatment and purification of wastewater of Ionas Dragoumis settlement ".

The project will meet the needs of 77% of the population of the Municipal Unit of Iona Dragoumi and aims to connect the existing internal sewage networks of the settlements of the Municipality of Argos Orestiko with the pumping stations, the construction of sewage treatment plants and the subsequent disposal of the treated sewage in natural recipients of the area.

Particularly, it includes:

• Extensions from the sewage outlet points with DN315 polyethylene pipes to the pumping station points
• Construction of small sewage pumping stations
• Depressant DN110 sewage pipeline from the pumping stations to the local WWTP
• Construction of WWTP

The avoidance of contamination of the underground water table and the protection of water resources with a significant improvement of the environmental conditions in the Aliakmonas River is ensured at the completion of the project.

The direct control and presence of personnel on the daily operation of the system that will be installed is not required due to its automations, while at the same time it has the required flexibility to cover both peak services and periods with low sewage supply.
