On August 10, 2023, Thalis E.S SA signed a contract with the Municipality of Apokoronas in the Regional Unit of Chania, Crete, for the project "Supply and Trial Operation of Sludge Dewatering Installation in Kalives and Supply and Installation of Supplementary Treatment Units for the Wastewater Treatment Facility in the Kalives Settlement."

The project significantly contributes to the sustainable transformation of the wider area, with the produced sludge being available for stabilizing and restoring forested areas affected by wildfires or other causes, as well as for fertilizing plants on road separation islands.

The new biological treatment unit paves the way for sustainable development. Thalis will implement a state-of-the-art wastewater treatment technology, specifically, ultrafiltration membranes, ensuring the possibility of reusing treated wastewater for irrigation purposes, while also actively contributing to environmental protection by improving discharge limits into the marine receptor.

Thalis contributes reliably to sustainable development and the creation of an effective and equitable circular economy for local communities and the country.
