Thalis signed a contract with the Municipal Water and Sewerage Company of Livadeia for the project "Wastewater Sludge Processing Center of the Municipal Water and Sewerage Company of Livadeia."

The project involves the construction, operation, and maintenance of the Wastewater Sludge Processing Center of DEYAL. It is the first unit in Greece where solar drying and aeration of sludge will be applied as a processing method, with sludge mixing being carried out by a robotic vehicle.

Thalis, through the innovative technology it will implement, enhances solar drying even during periods of low sunlight by providing external heat within the greenhouses. External heat will be supplied through air heaters from a combined heat and power unit (CHP) that burns the synthetic gas from the sludge gasification unit.

The new innovative installation paves the way for sustainable development, serving as an energy-autonomous unit that ensures significant energy savings since the greenhouse's operation does not require electricity supply. Additionally, special software monitors and records all parameters for the optimal operation of the greenhouse through sensors, which can be remotely controlled.

The new modern and ecological unit will secure space savings in the existing landfills, leading to an extension of their lifespan.
