Upgrading Waste Management Infrastructure of the Municipality of Poros
Published : November 7th, 2023
Thalis has signed a contract with the Municipality of Poros in the Regional Unit of the Islands of Attica, Attica Region, for the project "Upgrading Waste Management Infrastructure of the Municipality of Poros."
The implementation of the project will ensure the quality of swimming water and groundwater, contributing to the protection of marine and terrestrial flora and fauna and the development of a significant coastal tourism area.
With the new sewage network and the new tertiary treatment unit, the residents and visitors' living standards are improved while providing maximum environmental protection for the water receptors in the area from urban sewage.
The new Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) will significantly contribute to energy cost savings due to the installation of modern equipment. Additionally, the installation of a remote monitoring and control system allows for immediate intervention in case of any network or WWTP malfunction.
With tertiary treatment, the treated wastewater can be used for unlimited irrigation in the Agios Nektarios area, significantly contributing to achieving circularity in the broader region.
At Thalis, we act responsibly and create a sustainable environment for the future by systematically addressing the challenges of our time.
