Modernization of Water Supply Networks in the Municipality of Peonia
Published : November 7th, 2023
Thalis has signed a contract with the Municipal Water Supply and Sewerage Enterprise of Paeonia, in the Regional Unit of Kilkis, Central Macedonia Region, for the project "Modernization of Water Supply Networks in the Municipality of Paeonia."
The project involves the replacement of internal water supply networks and the construction of new ones in eight settlements within the Municipality of Paeonia. It also includes the installation of 3,443 new digital water meters and the necessary control points. Moreover, it encompasses the replacement of the electromechanical equipment at 23 water pumping stations.
The energy upgrade of the pumping stations will ensure significant energy savings for the required consumption, while the installation of new digital water meters and the necessary control points for the water supply networks will enable the detection of theft, leaks, and malfunctions in water meters and supply networks.
With the automation and remote management system, data from local stations and control points will be collected automatically at the central station in the service's offices, ensuring continuous monitoring of the overall system's operational status and enabling timely corrective actions and the pre-adjustment of installation parameters for optimal network operation.
The implementation of this project will contribute to minimizing the downtime of repair teams, reducing fuel costs for employees' travel to record consumption from conventional water meters, and decreasing the carbon footprint from vehicle inactivity.
The reduction of drinking water losses due to leaks in the distribution areas will help preserve water resources and lead to reduced energy consumption for water extraction, treatment, and transportation.
At Thalis, we represent modern sustainability in the most innovative way. Guided by our vision, we harness new technologies in environmental management and create innovative solutions that respect the environment and effectively address the multiple challenges of our time.
