Dynamic participation of THALIS in the RHODES 2024 11th - International Conference

Mr. Dimitris Kontaxis, General Manager of Circular Economy of Motor Oil presented the critical axes for the revision of the National Solid Waste Management Plan and the clarification of the regulatory environment at the "RHODES 2024 11th International Conference on Sustainable Solid Waste Management," organized by the National Technical University of Athens.
Specifically, he emphasized:
- The need for immediate funding to convert MBTs to RFFs.
- The gradual implementation of the pro rata regime that will apply to the financing of new projects, with a parallel provision to cover any gaps that may arise.
- Support for Source Separation of recyclable materials and organic fraction through the organization and development of effective collection systems.
- Encouraging investment in the recovery and recycling of critical streams such as plastics.
- Strengthening industrial symbiosis networks and the creation of Circular Cities.
