Public Opinion Survey by METRON ANALYSIS for THALIS-ES.
Published : February 27th, 2025
What do citizens know about developments in environmental issues? What do they think about the circular economy and efforts to tackle climate change? What do they think about the services provided? And most importantly, how willing are they to contribute to this effort?
To answer these questions, THALIS commissioned METRON ANALYSIS to conduct a nationwide public opinion survey on Environmental Issues and the Circular Economy.
In a statement to Kathimerini, Mr. Dimitris Kontaxis, General Manager of Circular Economy at Motor Oil and Vice President of THALIS, emphasized:
"We conducted the survey to assess citizens’ awareness of the circular economy, their willingness to actively participate in related processes, and their views on alternative waste management methods. The survey results helped us better understand the broader environment in which our business operates and focus on areas where greater needs are identified, but at the same time, there is strong public acceptance. The conclusions drawn are particularly encouraging, and I believe they will be useful to all stakeholders involved in this complex transition process toward a new production model."
The results of the survey were presented at two events (in Thessaloniki and Heraklion), with the wide participation of more than 100 guests, representatives of the Local Government, executives of FODSA, Water Supply and Sewerage Operators, Academics, officials and market executives.
