The consortium under the name "NOVA ICT-THALIS" has signed a contract with the Municipality of Heraklion for the project "Supply and Installation of SSC Infrastructure for a Sustainable and Green Urban Future."

The project is part of Sub-project 1 of the initiative "Greek Smart Cities – Investments in SSC Infrastructure and Systems for a Sustainable and Green Urban Future" (OPS Code TA 5198269), funded by the Recovery and Resilience Facility.

The project focuses on extroversion, direct service provision to citizens, and demonstrating the value of a smart city and its contribution to improving citizens' quality of life.

As part of the gradual transformation of the Municipality of Heraklion into a "smart city," the contractor will develop new infrastructure, digital tools, and information systems. These will enable the city to utilize technology, information, and open data to improve urban infrastructure and electronic services. Smart infrastructure is expected to boost urban economic development while meeting the needs of residents and visitors.

Upon completion, the project will accelerate the digital and green transition of the Municipality of Heraklion, enhance circular economy prospects, and improve the quality of life for residents and visitors.
