THALIS has signed a contract with the Municipality of Gortyna in Crete for the project "Expansion of the Telecontrol-Teleoperation System and Leak Detection of the External and Internal Water Supply Networks of the Municipality of Gortyna."
The purpose of the contract is the installation and activation of an integrated system for monitoring important parameters of the entire water supply network of the Municipality of Gortyna.
Specifically, the system's goal is the continuous monitoring and control of the external water supply networks, as well as the collection and storage of relevant historical data from the water system components of the Municipality.
With the modern, holistic information system for water supply networks, the Municipality of Gortyna enters a new era, as it will be able to gain a clear understanding of the operational status of the entire system through appropriate evaluation and processing, and take corrective actions or pre-adjust operational parameters of the network.
Through network operation simulation and the balance derived from measuring the water meters of all consumers, sub-zones showing leaks will be identified.
This is an innovative project that contributes dynamically to the ecological and digital transformation of the environment in the broader region, with simultaneous benefits for the citizens and employees of the Municipality:
- Ensures the required quality control of the produced and consumed water.
- Drastically reduces operational costs of the service. This minimizes the time spent by repair crews and reduces fuel costs for the transportation of employees to record consumption from conventional water meters.
- Reduces the carbon footprint due to the reduced movement of vehicles.
- Safeguards water resources by controlling leaks.
- Achieves direct and efficient service for consumers.
All of the above ensure, in the most cost-effective and sustainable way, the management of potable water with minimal burden on consumers.
At Thalis, we aim to be the driving force behind the sustainable development chain. With the reliability and prestige of the Motor Oil Group, we contribute to the ecological and digital transformation of the environment in Greece, enhance the daily lives of citizens, and create value for local communities, giving a boost to the national economy and the country itself.
