THALIS undertakes the design, construction, and operation of the Wastewater Treatment Plant of the Oinofyta Environmental Remediation Business Park.
The new, high-specification facility will treat both municipal and industrial liquid waste generated by the Park’s activities. Through advanced treatment methods, it ensures that the effluent will fully comply with the quality standards required by current legislation for sensitive recipients, thereby making a substantial contribution to the protection of the Asopos River.
This project marks a decisive step towards the environmental restoration of an area that has been burdened for decades by untreated wastewater. Its implementation is expected to restore the natural character of the Asopos River and create a clean, healthy and attractive environment for both residents and visitors.
At the same time, new green jobs are being created, strengthening the local economy and supporting sustainable development. The improvement of water quality and the local microclimate enhances the potential for environmentally oriented activities such as environmental education, birdwatching, ecotourism and agritourism.
The plant’s design is based on an integrated combination of advanced treatment technologies, including physico-chemical treatment with Dissolved Air Flotation (DAF), biological treatment, ultrafiltration using ceramic membranes, ozonation and final treatment through reverse osmosis. This combination enables the effective removal of even the most persistent pollutants, ensuring high-quality effluent and full compliance with environmental requirements.
Through this project, THALIS reaffirms its commitment to developing and delivering innovative solutions that promote environmental protection and the sustainable management of water resources.
