Within the framework of the contract that MESOGEIOS SA signed on 19/08/2008 for the construction of a mixed solid urban waste treatment plant, the object included the design and construction of a SOLID waste treatment plant, the test operation for one year and the normal operation for three more years. Thalis E.S S.A was the subcontractor /  constructor of the project.

The entire installation is based on biological process engineering method Biocubi of ECODECO.

 

 

 

 

 

 

The maximum annual capacity of 75,000 tons of household waste.

The plant produces odorless and biodried material through the following processes:

  • Weighing incoming and outgoing waste.
  • Reception and shredding of incoming waste.
  • Biological drying stage, during which the final product achieves a minimum weight reduction of 25% and a moisture content of up to 20%.
  • Compression and baling of waste.
  • Magnetic separation of metals.
  • Environmental protection system, such as deodorization system (biofilter) and dedusting system (bag filter).
  • Transportation and transshipment of processed waste to the Pera Galinon Landfill.
  • Environmental monitoring and remote-control program. The entire facility is based on ECODECO's Biocubi mechanical biological process method. Odorless and bio dried material is produced in the unit through the following processes:
    • Weighing incoming and outgoing waste.
    • Acceptance and shredding of incoming waste.
    • Biological drying stage, during which the final product achieves a minimum weight reduction of 25% and a moisture content of up to 20%.
    • Compaction and baling of waste.
    • Magnetic separation of metals.
    • Environmental protection system, such as deodorization system (biofilter) and dedusting system (bag filter).
    • Transport and transshipment of processed waste to the Pera Galinon Landfill.
