The object of the contract is the supply and installation of electromechanical (EM) equipment for the improvement and Upgrading of the Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) of Heraklion, expecting its most efficient operation.

The second category includes equipment that will be installed with different technical characteristics from the existing one (when it is going to replace one) as well as equipment that will be installed for the first time. Specifically, this category includes:

  • Sludge management tanks, with a total capacity of 6,000m3
  • Diesel emergency pumps.
  • Analytical / measuring equipment

The proposed equipment is categorized into:

  • Improvement equipment, in order to replace the existing and obsolete equipment, with new of the same (or almost the same) specifications and
  • Upgrade equipment, in order to optimize the processes that take place.

The first category of equipment will have the same or almost the same, basic technical characteristics with the equipment to be replaced and will include the replacement:

  • Sewage pre-treatment equipment
  • Biological Reactor Equipment
  • Primary and secondary sedimentation system equipment
  • Anaerobic sludge treatment equipment
  • Dehydrated sludge transport truck.
  • Measuring Equipment of continuous operation
  • Outdoor luminaires
  • Replacement of electrical cables in biological reactors, secondary settling tanks and the initial lifting pumping station
