PROGRESS

The existing drainage treatment plant of the Pera Galines landfill treats 100m3 / day of liquid waste with the method of biological treatment with membrane bioreactors (MBR).
The tertiary treatment of the drains is carried out in the main reverse osmosis system, which consists of a suitable pumping unit to achieve the high pressure.
The generated drains, after being collected and homogenized in a balancing tank, feed two biological treatment plants that operate in parallel, each of which includes zones of aerobic degradation of organic load and nitration and a zone of immersion of membranes for the separation of solids. The final effluent from these two biological treatment plants is led to a chlorination tank before its final disposal.
As part of the Procurement, a reverse osmosis unit with a capacity of 20m3 / day was installed downstream of the membrane bioreactor units and before the chlorination tank. Its outflow is expected to lead to the irrigation of the area. The reverse osmosis unit is two-stage and is installed in a visitable suitably modified 40ft container.
