The project includes:

• Anti-flooding works and projects for the settlement of a part of Aliakmons, about 2,300m long, from the "Skalki" position to downstream of the confluence of Aliakmons with Stravopotamos (or Galesovo) concerning river bed settlement projects and construction anti-flood levees to receive the calculated flood benefits.
• Technical works complementary and supportive of the settlement works, such as construction of an energy destruction basin downstream of the existing new bridge, construction of an Ogee spillway, reconstruction of the steps of the new bridge, protection of the abutments of the existing old bridge, construction of a new footbridge connecting the anti-flood levees as well and technical projects related to the reconstruction of the existing irrigation channel as its functionality is affected by the design of the new anti-flooding projects.
• In addition, additional works are included that are directly technically connected to the proposed anti-flooding works or affect their technical integrity if they are built in a second construction phase, such as earthworks and basic infrastructure works that will be utilized in the next construction phase.
